An Anki deck is a group of Anki cards you can study without opening the whole collection. Parent decks, subdecks, filtered decks, shared decks - this is the unit people search when they type “anki deck”.

Shared decks and Anki deck download.

The fastest start: Get Shared in the deck list, or open ankiweb.net/shared/decks. Download an .apkg, double-click, Anki imports it. Anki deck download does not go straight into AnkiWeb - import on desktop or AnkiDroid, then Sync.

Anki Japanese decks (Kaishi 1.5k, Core), AnKing for Step, Spanish frequency lists - useful as supplements, not as a textbook replacement. The manual’s line still holds: do not learn if you do not understand.

Filtered decks

Create Filtered Deck (F) builds a temporary Anki deck from a search - tag, due cards, buried. Cram without wrecking the main schedule if you empty it after.

Anki Japanese & languages

Yomitan + AnkiConnect mines sentences into an Anki deck. WaniKani users often keep a separate kanji deck. Audio fields play on Anki mobile.

AnKing & AnkiHub

AnKing is the medical Anki deck stack. AnkiHub syncs collaborative decks. Neither replaces Download Anki - they sit on top of the desktop app.
